Michael D. Johnson is the Boeing Company Endowed Professor of Business Management in the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. He received his BA in Psychology from Hope College and his PhD in Organizational Behavior from Michigan State University. Prior to getting his doctorate, Michael worked for 16 years in the non-profit sector. He has received numerous teaching awards, including best faculty awards in Foster’s Executive MBA, Technology Management MBA, and the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Graduate Teaching. In addition to teaching at UW, Michael also teaches numerous Executive Education courses for Seattle-area businesses. He does original research on leadership, teamwork, and emotions in organizations, publishing in top management and psychology journals.
Johnson joined the PCBS faculty in 2023.
